Photo: David Tyrrell The world’s leading two triathletes, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, destroyed the 221-strong field to take gold and silver at the Yorkshire Cross-Country Championships. World triathlon champion Alistair impressed at a windswept Thornes Park in Wakefield as he completed the course in 34min 51sec. The awards were introduced in 2005 to mark the BOA’s Centenary Year and the success of London being awarded the 2012 Olympic Games.
