Javier Gomez wins 2010 Dextro ITU WCS London triathlon, Brownlee leaves in a wheelchair London, England- July 25th, 2010 Defending ITU world champion Alistair Brownlee tried everything he could to drop the field at the Dextro ITU WCS London Triathlon but in the end he had to be wheeled off the course as Javier Gomez took the win.
The women kicked off the triathlon racing weekend in London’s Hyde Park Saturday. Photographer Paul Phillips provides photos of the race, which was a sneak peek at the triathlon course for the 2012 London Olympic games.
Tempe Town Lake is the home of several triathlons and is the backbone for the sport in the Phoenix metropolitan area. When a dam holding the lake broke on Tuesday, July 20, the fate of the area’s fall triathlons was put into question. Here are a few images of the lake’s biggest triathlon, Ironman Arizona.
It was the hottest ever running of the Nautica New York City Triathlon, but that didn’t seem to damper the spirits of the competitors or the volunteers. Photographer Justin Lee was on hand to capture the athletes in action. All photos by Justin Lee.
Triathlete in the Second Annual Ravine Lake Triathlon dash into the water to start a 1/4-mile swim, which kicked off the event. Following the swim, participants biked 6.2 miles and finished with a 1.5-mile run. More photos from the event can be found on page 12.
